Burial or Cremation? Cat Urns May be the Answer for You

By: Admin

It’s one of the most difficult things a cat owner has to face – the death of their faithful, furry friend. We all dread the day that our pet passes, but when the time comes, we need to make the decision of how to deal with the remains. While burial has been the traditional choice for centuries, cremation is becoming more popular these days for many reasons. Why would you choose to keep your cat’s ashes in a cat urn rather than burying it?

The grief process when a pet passes is very similar, and often just as difficult, as when a human family member or friend dies. We need to be able to grieve our pet and have a way to preserve its memory. Having its ashes in a pet urn in the house provides a way to spend time with him or her whenever we need to feel close to him or spend a few moments remembering the fun and companionship we had. Keeping your cat’s ashes in a special cat urn displayed prominently in your home will allow you to stay close to it and will help you get through the healing process of the loss.

When you choose to bury your pet in the backyard, as people have been doing for centuries, visiting the grave takes more time and effort and you may find that you don’t go visit as often as you would like. When you have a cat urn on your mantel, you always have your pet nearby. Even in the middle of the night, in the dead of winter or during a horrible storm, you can still spend time with your cat’s memorial. Another problem with backyard burials is that you may not always live in the house you are in right now. How will you feel when you can’t go visit the grave anymore because it is in someone else’s yard?

Cat urns are available in many different sizes, shapes and designs. Many are beautiful decorations that look lovely displayed on a shelf or mantle. You can choose an urn that complements your décor or that matches the cat’s personality. Or both. They provide you with a special memorial and resting place for your beloved friend that will always be near you. Your cat was always close to you in life, it’s only right that it should be close to you in its final resting place as well.
